A VTS application continues to run whether an operator is logged in or not. While running, any control action that is not protected by an application privilege can be used and that action is recorded to the alarm history. All actions occurring while no operator is logged in are attributed to a user named `Logged-Off`. This is a user account that is built into and standard with every VTS application.
The Logged-Off user’s privileges are whatever is set in SecurityManager.INI as the default privileges. It is strongly recommended that few to no privileges be granted in the default set.
No one is able to log in with the user name Logged-Off. Indeed, this is unnecessary since anyone who is using a VTS workstation and is not logged in, is in fact using the Logged-Off user account.
The configuration of the Logged-Off user account is also used to control the behavior of the VTS Internet Client. See: Choice of Action upon Logout.
