The first color in the VTS palette (color index "0") has been designated to become invisible on your graphics pages. The following image shows which box in the Select Color dialog is used for Transparent Black.

The RGB colors that combine to create transparent black are R=0, G=0, B=0. Within the VTS scripting language, transparent black has been configured to be invisible on application pages. What this means to you is that any parts of a graphic object that are drawn using this color will be transparent when placed on a page.
To see an example of this at work, try opening any of the equipment graphics provided by VTS using a graphic software program (such as Paint). You will notice that all equipment objects actually have black backgrounds, however, when these images are placed on a VTS application page, the backgrounds appear to be transparent. An example follows:

To create your own custom graphics that include transparent areas, use the transparent black color wherever you want background objects on the page to show through.
