10.1 Configuring Page Hotboxes

The Page Hotbox drawing tool is not directly related to any tag, therefore it is kept in a special library of tools. These are accessed using the Libraries button in the Configuration Toolbox.

1.  Close the Booster Pump Control page if it is open.

2.  Click the Library tool in the Configuration Toolbox (as indicated by the mouse pointer and tooltip in Figure 121).

3.  Click on the plus sign (+) beside Drawing Tools to expand the selection.

4.  Expand the Standard Library menu in the same way.

5.  Right-Click on Page Hotbox to open its context menu.

6.  Select Draw from the options.

A sample hotbox rectangle will be attached to the cursor.  Place it on the label for the booster pump as shown in Figure 123:

7.  The Page Hotbox graphic editor dialog opens as in Figure 124 (completed).

This dialog enables you to choose the title and file name of the page to which the hotbox object will navigate. It also enables you to select a color to use for the page hotbox.

8.  Select "Booster Pump Control" from the Page Title drop-down list.

The Page File Name automatically updates to the file name of the selected page, "BoosterPumpControl". The completed Page Hotbox Style dialog should appear as shown in Figure 124.

9.  Click the OK button. The Page Hotbox Style dialog closes.

10. Stretch the page hotbox until it fully surrounds the label for the booster pump graphic.

The Page Hotbox is complete; however, you must place the application in operation mode in order to test it (click the "No Tool" button).

The page hotbox seems to disappear, however it is merely hidden until it the mouse pointer is placed over it.

Click the page hotbox to test it. The "Booster Pump Control" page opens. To close the "Booster Pump Control" page, simply click the close button in its title bar.
