12.14 Adding a Notebook Tag

Operators may add notes to the graph to record extra information for any event.  However, before they can do so, you must create a notebook tag to provide a location for the notes to be stored.

 

1.  Click the Configure button to open the Configuration Toolbox.

2.  Click the Tag Browser button to open the Tag Browser.

3.  Select Notebook from the Types drop-down list.

4.  Click the New button. A new notebook tag properties folder will open.

5.  Referring to Figure 170, enter a name for the new notebook tag in the Name field.

6.  Select an existing area or enter a new area in the Area field.

7.  Enter a description for the new notebook tag in the Description field.

8.  Click the OK button. The new notebook tag will be saved.

9.  Close the Tag Browser.

10. Close the Configuration Toolbox to return the application to operational mode.

Once you have created a new notebook tag, you can annotate data on the Historical Data Viewer page. The exercise that follows provides instructions on doing so.
