12.4 Use the Duration Selector to Modify the Time Scale on the Graph

In the preceding section, you added a pen to plot analog data on the Historical Data Viewer page, and by default, the time scale was set to 1 day. This exercise discusses the different options for modifying the time scale for the analog data being plotted. First we shall use the duration selector drop-down list to modify the time scale.

1.  Click the duration selector drop-down list in the tool bar. (Figure 161)

Figure 161

The preset time durations are displayed.

2.  Scroll to the top of the list.

3.  Select "2 Minutes" from the duration selector drop-down list.

Because you have selected a very short time duration, the live data will now be plotted on the screen very rapidly as it occurs in real time from right to left. The time scale along the x-axis will reflect the new 2-minute time span.

4.  Experiment with the different preset time periods and observe the plot.
