The Zoom Out X and Zoom In X tools in the Historical Data Viewer page's tool bar can be used to adjust the time scale for the graph to view lesser and greater periods. This exercise provides instructions on using these tools.
The duration selector drop-down list should still be set to "2 Minutes"; if it is not, select a 2-minute time period now.
1. Click the Zoom Out X button in the tool bar. (Remember that each tool has its own descriptive tooltip that appears when you rest your mouse pointer over it.)
2. Position your mouse pointer over the graph.
3. Click the graph once. The time scale will reset to reflect a 5-minute period, as indicated by the duration selector drop-down list, and the time scale along the x-axis.
4. Click the graph a second time. The time scale will reset to reflect a 10-minute period (again, as indicated by the duration drop-down list and the time scale along the x-axis).
5. Continue to experiment with the Zoom Out X button to view greater time periods on the graph. The maximum time period is 5 years.
6. Click the Zoom In X button in the tool bar.
7. Position your mouse pointer over the graph.
8. Click the graph once. The time scale will reset to reflect a lesser time period, as indicated by the duration selector drop-down list, and the time scale along the x-axis.
9. Continue to experiment with the Zoom In X button to view lesser time periods on the graph. The minimum time period is 2 minutes.
