12.9 Modify Pen Data in the Pen Legend

The pen legend is a reference for all the tags whose data is being plotted on the Historical Data Viewer page. In addition to identifying the tags whose data is being plotted, the pen legend can be used to display fundamental information about each tag.

By default, the pen legend displays the name, description, and value for each tag whose data is being plotted; however, you may also display such data as the minimum, maximum, and average value for a pen within the configured time period, and/or any alarm setpoint(s) that have been associated with a tag. The instructions below will guide you through this process.

1.  Select the pen for "AI20_1" in the pen legend.

2.  Right-click the pen to open its shortcut menu.

3.  Select the Properties shortcut menu item. The Pen Properties dialog will open similar Figure 163.

4.  Experiment by changing the parameters to be displayed in the legend.

5.  Click the OK button to save your settings. The data displayed for the pen in the pen legend is adjusted according to your modifications.

Any pen in the pen legend can be right-clicked to access its properties. The available properties for pens will be slightly different according to the tag type they represent. Detailed information on the properties for digital pens and notebook pens is available in VTS Developer's Guide.
