13.3 Orientation to the Alarm Page

VTS automatically generates a default Alarm page whenever you create any new standard application. The Alarm page enables you to monitor the conditions within the application by monitoring values of tags and their related equipment processes; however, in order to monitor your application's tags you must first configure alarm tags to report these to you.

When an alarm has been triggered, the area surrounding the Alarm Page button in the Display Manager's title bar will flash red, and the default alarm siren will sound. These signals are an indication that you should navigate to the Alarm Page to respond to the alarm(s).

Once an alarm has been triggered, the alarm is reported on the alarm page where you can monitor and respond to it.

Note: you cannot respond to alarms until the application is placed in operation mode.

The default Alarm page is displayed in Figure 175.

The elements of the default Alarm page are described in the Developer's Guide.
