16.1 Removing Questionable Data Flags Using a Tag Properties Folder

Throughout the process of using different tag drawing methods to display the value of the tags and the related equipment in the system, you saw that questionable data indicators or "flags" were automatically added to each graphic object on the page.

The "Questionable" property appears on the Merit tab for all the basic I/O tags. By default, the "Questionable" property is set to "1" or "true" for all basic I/O tags. This provides you with a handy "checklist" that you can follow when you are testing your finished application.  As you verify that each tag and the corresponding equipment are in sync, you can remove the questionable data flag to indicate that validation has occurred.

1.  Open the Configuration Toolbox.

2.  Click the Tag Browser button. The Tag Browser opens.

3.  Select "All" from the Types drop-down list.

4.  Right-click the "AI20_1 Booster Tank Level" tag. The tag properties folder for "AI20_1 Booster Tank Level" opens.

5.  Click the Merit tab.

6.  De-select the "Questionable Data" checkbox.

The "Questionable" property will be set to "0" or false/off. The completed Merit tab should now appear like Figure 194.

7.  Click the OK button. The tag properties folder closes, and the Tag Browser remains open.

8.  Click the Close button. The Tag Browser closes.

The following exercise shows a faster way of removing the questionable data flag.
