7.2 Using the Text Tool

It is always a good practice to label the objects and equipment on your application pages to help operators to quickly identify them. In this exercise, you will use the new font style tag from the last exercise, in combination with the Text tool to label the equipment on the page.

 

1.  Click the Text tool in the Configuration Toolbox as indicated by the mouse pointer and tooltip in Figure 89.

2.  The words “Sample Text” will appear attached to the cursor.  Place this just below the booster pump as shown in Figure 90:

3.  The Graphic Editor for text will open.  Select the Text option from the menu.

4.  Click in the window that displays the words “Sample Text”.  Edit this to display “Booster Pump”. (Figure 92)

5.  Select the Font option in the menu.  The font choices will display in the dialog.

6.  Click on the font tag selector, as indicated in the preceding image.  The Tag Browser will open.  Click on the EquipmentLabel font tag and then the Select button to select the font tag and close the tag browser.

7.  Click on OK in the Graphic Editor.  Your screen should now look similar to Figure 94: (you may need to stretch the label object slightly wider if the words are clipped)
