Controls and Control Indicators for Analog Output Tags

For analog output tags, controls are required to change the value of the tag and its related equipment to a precise continuous value, often to the decimal point. There are two methods by which this can be accomplished:

      Moving a slide up or down to adjust the value; or

      Entering a precise value into a field.

In addition to the output of a signal, it is often useful to include drawing methods that portray the value being output. For example, if you have drawn the tag using a slide that sends a precise value to equipment, you may find it useful to also draw the same analog output tag with numeric value indicator to reflect the outgoing value as a number. An example is shown in Figure 8:

In this example, as the slider is moved on the scale, the resulting outgoing value is displayed in the field below the scale.
