When it comes to digital output tags, controls are required to change the value of the tag and its related equipment from a "0" to a "1", or from a "1" to a "0". There are two methods by which this can be accomplished:
• Clicking a button; or
• Clicking a designated "set value" area.
In addition to sending an output signal, it is often useful to include drawing methods to portray the status of the output signal. For example, if you are using a pulsed output and have drawn the tag using a button that sends a signal to turn equipment on, you may find it useful to also draw the same digital output tag with a color indicator. An example is shown in Figure 7:

When the button is idle, the color indicator displays in red (as shown on the left above). Once the button is clicked, and while the pulsed signal is being sent to the equipment, the color indicator displays in green (or the color of your choice) to indicate that the signal is being sent (as shown on the right above).
