Drawing Tags

In VTS, you always establish your tags first, and draw them second.

There are distinct benefits to the VTS process of establishing the tag first and drawing the tag second. For example:

    You can modify or delete a drawing method without changing or deleting the actual tag; and

    You can establish multiple drawing methods for a single tag.

Tag drawing methods are specialized animated graphics that present the changing values of tags (and thus the equipment) in variety of clear and understandable ways. Each tag type has its own set of tag drawing methods.

When you are developing your operator interfaces, you are free to draw tags using as many of the tag drawing methods as you wish. You might choose to draw the same tag both graphically and numerically.

The method you use to develop your applications can vary according to the scope of the system. For example:

    You could develop all the tags at once, and then create your operator interface;

    You could complete tags in stages and then draw them in stages; or

    You could create one tag at a time and draw them as you complete them.

Any of these methods are acceptable.
