Historical Data Viewer (HDV)

The main tool for reviewing data is the Historical Data Viewer.  Left-clicking on any control graphic on a page while the application is running (i.e. not while in editing mode) will open the HDV to show a moving line graph of values coming from the associated tag.  You can adjust either axis of the graph to suit your needs, whether that’s to decrease the vertical range being displayed or altering the amount of time visible on the graph at any moment.

Notes can be added to the graph by the operator to record details connected to events of interest.  All values and notes will be saved to an external file that can then be used for building reports.  VTS provides a wide variety of reporting tools for output to Excel, SQL-based reporting engines, text files, graphing programs, etc.
