Lesson 16: Commissioning the Application

Objectives:

      Learn about commissioning an application;

      Learn about configuration changes versus operational changes;

      Learn about questionable data;

      Learn about manual data; and

      Learn more about the shortcut menu.

Lesson 16 Overview

In this lesson, we will review the concept of commissioning the system. Commissioning is the process of monitoring incoming data being displayed in the application against the actual data being reported by the physical equipment. Since the tutorial application is using simulated data from the virtual Modicon PLC, you will not be able to confirm the values of the "equipment", so for now, assume that the data has been verified as correct.

You will also see that there are many ways to access and modify data in VTS, but that each way has different consequences.
