Lesson 7 Summary

Lesson 7 explained the use of the default font style tags and how new font style tags can easily be added to your applications for use by the Text tools, other application development tools, and tag drawing methods that employ text as part of their display.

You learned how to use the Text tool and configure its properties so that you can add text objects using different text colors, backgrounds, and fonts to your application pages.

Your Booster Station application page should now appear similar to Figure 95.

Skills Achieved in Lesson 7

You achieved the following skills and knowledge in Lesson 7:

VTS automatically configures 4 font style tags by default when you create a new application. These 4 tags are widely used by VTS to supply the text styles for such items as tooltips. Although it is recommended that you do not modify these default font style tags, you can certainly use them whenever you are working with an application development tool or a tag drawing method that uses text as part of its display.

You can add your own custom font style tags for use with the application development tools and tag drawing methods that employ text as part of their display.

The Text tool enables you to configure attributes such as text color, background, font and alignment for a text object.

It is a good idea to label the equipment in your displays to assist operators in identifying objects.
