Solution for 9.7 On Your Own Section

In section 9.7, you were required to use the Set Value Button drawing method to draw "DO10_2 Booster Pump Stop", and "DO10_3 Booster Pump Auto". The instructions provided below will help to assist you.

1. Employ the Set Value Button Drawing Method for DO10_2 Booster Pump Stop

The first requirement of Lesson 9 On Your Own Section B was to use the Set Value Button drawing method to represent "DO10_2 Booster Pump Stop". You were instructed to configure the Set Value Button drawing method in such a way that a value of "1" will be written to the tag when the button is clicked.

The "Booster Pump Control" page should currently be open. If it is not, please open it now.

1.  Click the Tag Browser button in the configuration toolbox. The Tag Browser opens.

2.  Select "Digital Output" from the Types drop-down list.

3.  Select "DO10_2 Booster Pump Stop".

4.  Click the Draw button. The Digital Output dialog opens and displays the drawing methods available to digital output tags.

5.  Select the Set Value Button. A sample button attaches to the cursor. Place this button on the Booster Pump Control page, just below the Start button.

6.  The Set Value Button graphic editor dialog opens as shown in Figure 25.

7.  Enter "Stop" in the State 0 Label field.

8.  Enter "Stopping…" in the State 1 Label field.

9.  Ensure the "Write 1 Immediately" radio button is selected. The completed dialog should appear like Figure 26.

10. Click the OK button.

2. Employ the Set Value Button Drawing Method for DO10_3 Booster Pump Auto

The second requirement of Lesson 9 On Your Own Section B was to use the Set Value Button drawing method to represent "DO10_3 Booster Pump Auto". You were instructed to configure the drawing method in such a way that a value of "0" will be written to the tag when the button is clicked.

The "Booster Pump Control" page and the Tag Browser should still be open with Digital Output chosen from the Types drop-down list.

 

1.  Select "DO10_3 Booster Pump Auto".

2.  Click the Draw button. The Digital Output dialog opens and displays the drawing methods available to digital output tags.

3.  Click the Set Value Button. A sample button attaches to the cursor. Place this button on the Booster Pump Control page, just below the Start button.

4.  The Set Value Button graphic editor dialog opens.

5.  Enter "Auto" in the State 0 Label field.

6.  Enter "Auto" in the State 1 Label field (there is no pulse value configured for this tag; therefore, no alternate label is required for State 1.

7.  Ensure the "Write 0 Immediately" radio button is selected. The completed dialog should appear like Figure 27.

8.  Click the OK button. The completed "Booster Pump Control" page should appear like Figure 28.
