Standard VTS Tag Types
VTS provides you with a series of standard tag types that can be used in the development of your applications. A "tag type" is a specific category of tag with a particular purpose. For example, there are tag types that send command signals from your application to equipment, and other tag types that read signals from equipment and report it in your application. There are tags types that provide the drivers for input/output devices such as RTUs, PLCs, or I/O boards. There are tags that signal when alarm conditions occur, and there are tags that record the data of other tags so that it can be plotted on the Historical Data Viewer page.
Tags can be grouped into the following categories:
• Device driver tags
• Port tags
• Input/output tags
• Other tag types. (System configuration)
