The Display Manager
While the VAM is the application management tool and gateway to your VTS applications, the Display Manager is the workbench in which you design, create, modify, and operate applications. The purpose of the Display Manager is twofold:
• Allows operators to monitor and control their system; and
• Provides you with a construction area and the tools you need to build and configure VTS applications.
The Display Manager is shown in Figure 2.

As shown, the Display Manager is made up of several parts, each one playing a specific role. The following sections identify these components and describe how each is used when developing an application.
