VTS includes a Historical Data Viewer page upon which tag data can be plotted and analyzed. Operators can plot the data of an unlimited (*) number of tags simultaneously, with each plot being displayed in a different color. (* Note: plotting too many pens at once will crowd the screen and slow performance – use your judgment.)
Each tag selected for the Historical Data Viewer is referred to as a "pen". You may add and remove pens, adjust the display scale and position of each relative to the others, and may change the color and line type of the plot made by each pen in order to better distinguish it.
The default Historical Data Viewer page can display live data in real-time or historical data that has been saved to data files using VTS's data logging capabilities.
Users can easily save data sets including specific tags, a time base, scaling attributes (and so on) that can be re-used, thereby saving time. Each time the user wishes to view the data of these pre-configured data sets or "trend groups", they need only open the trend group on the Historical Data Viewer page.
Plotted data may be exported to an external database, data file or spreadsheet for more detailed analysis and report generation from third party reporting packages.
