The reports page is a standard part of all VTS applications.
This page is designed so that you can quickly generate a report on the equipment process data in your application. With VTS's powerful report generating features, you can choose from a variety of different report types, choose the data to be included or omitted from the report, and select a time period and output type for your report.

As shown, the Reports page is made up of several elements that you can use to specify the contents and format for each report. The Reports page elements are numbered to help guide you through the report configuration process. The elements of the reports page are:

Report Type |
Use this drop-down list to choose the type of report to be generated. See: Report Types. |

Load Group |
Used to load a group of tags that were previously saved (using the Save Group button). See: Load a Tag Group. |

Save Group |
Save the tags displayed in the Tags In Report list as a group for later use. See: Save a Tag Group. |
|
Types |
Automatically set according to the type of report selected in the "Report Type". See: Report Types. |

Areas |
Filter the list of tags shown according to their defined area. |

Tags In Report |
Displays the list of tags selected for the report. See Save a Tag Group for detailed instructions on selecting tags. |

Tags Available |
Displays the list of tags available for selection, according to the selected report type and the Area filter, if one has been applied. See Save a Tag Group for detailed instructions on selecting tags. |

Click on this button to un-select all previously selected tags. |

When one tag is highlighted in the list of selected tags, click this button to remove it from the selection. You could also double-click on that selected tag to achieve the same result. |

Start Time |
Use the "Start Time" spin box to select a starting date and time for the report if you want a time period that does not match one of the presets. |

End Time |
Use the "End Time" spin box to select an end date and time for the report if you want a time period that does not match one of the presets. |

Presets |
Use to select a defined time period for the report. There are two groups of presets: those ending at the current time (indicated by the word "last") and those covering a set block of time (indicated by the word "previous") |

Number of Consecutive Periods |
Set the number of iterations of the reporting period. That is, the number of reports to produce, each covering a consecutive length of time of the length shown in the reporting period. See: Generate Multiple Reports Simultaneously. |

Output Type |
Select the output destination for the report. See: Report Output Formats. |
|
E-mail Report |
Check this box to e-mail the report data in the body of an e-mail. This option only works with the Text File report output types. Before you can email a report, your VTS developer must configure an email server to use. |

E-mail Report As Attachment |
Check this box to e-mail the report data as an attachment to an e-mail. This option only works with the Text File report output types. Before you can email a report, your VTS developer must configure an email server to use. |

Use Excel to display screen reports |
Selected this option if you wish Microsoft Excel to launch your report when the "Screen Display" report output type is selected. |
|
Use separate sheets/tables |
If the report is being sent to Access or Excel select this checkbox if you want the program to save each tag's data to a separate spreadsheet or table. |
|
Rename sheets/tables |
If using the previous option, you can select this checkbox if you want the separate spreadsheets or tables to be renamed corresponding to the date and time at which the report was generated. |
|
Run Report |
The "Run Report" button generates a report based on the configuration of the Reports page (i.e. the type of report you've selected, the data to be included, the duration of the data, and the output type for the report). |
