Note: Before you can add a note to a notebook, you must add a notebook to the pen legend using the Tag Selector. Please refer to Add One or More Pens to the Historical Data Viewer Page Using the Tag Selector for instructions on using the Tag Selector.
To add a note to a notebook from the graph:
1. Ensure that the PlotView tab (appearing below the pen legend) has been selected.
2. Select the notebook to which you wish to add a note in the legend. (A rectangle will appear around the notebook to indicate that it has been selected.)
3. Click the Add Note button in the tool bar on the Historical Data Viewer page. (Note: If you cannot locate the Add Note button, rest your mouse pointer over the tools in the tool bar to view their descriptive tooltips.)
4. Position your mouse pointer on the graph according to the date and time in which you wish to add the note.
5. Click to add the note at the selected date and time. The Add Note dialog will open and identify the selected date and time.

6. Enter the text for the note in the Note area.
7. Click the OK button. The Add Note dialog will close, and a marker will be placed on the graph at the selected date and time, to indicate that a note has been added.
To read a note, simply click its marker on the graph or in the table.

As you can see from the example displayed above, the date and time at which the selected note was added, the username of the user who was logged on when the note was added, and the text of the note itself is displayed when you click a note marker on the graph.
