Throughout this guide, the term "application page" is used to refer to those pages that have been customized to contain a representation of the physical equipment and equipment processes that make up your system (equipment bitmaps, text and number fields, or a combination of these). Upwards of 100 application pages might be included in your application, each one configured with buttons, lists, bitmaps of equipment, dialogs and other graphical representations of equipment that allow you to monitor and control processes.
Most VTS applications also include a standard Alarm page (see The Alarm Page and Alarms), Historical Data Viewer page (see The Historical Data Viewer Page), and Reports page (see The Reports Page). These pages perform the specific functions of monitoring and managing alarms (Alarm page), graphing data from equipment processes (Historical Data Viewer page), and enabling you to generate reports on data from equipment processes (Reports page). Because these pages are standard or default VTS pages with specific roles, throughout this guide they are referred to by name, while the custom pages of your application are referred to as "application pages".
Instructions on switching among pages can be found in the section, Page Navigation Tools
