Application Security

VTS features application security that ensures that only authorized users are able to log on to the application, and perform control and monitoring of your system. Unauthorized users cannot employ the application to control equipment.

Each authorized user is assigned a security account (called a user account) that is comprised of 3 parts:

•      A username (typically the first initial and last name of the operator)

•      A unique password (typically an alphanumeric password chosen by the operator)

•      Security privileges or permissions appropriate to the individual roles and duties of the operator

 

The sections that follow describe user accounts and user privileges, and the steps involved in logging on and logging off the system.
