Mouse Behavior

Your VTS application reacts differently to left or right mouse clicks, depending upon the object you select (and depending upon whether your mouse is configured for a left-handed or right-handed person). Your VTS developer can inform you of any customized mouse behavior.

The table below identifies some of the common mouse behaviors that your application may feature.

A windowed version of the Historical Data Viewer page opens and plots the selected equipment values on a graph.

Note: Your VTS developer may have configured your application to perform this behavior on digital input tags as well as on analog input tags. The Historical Data Viewer page is discussed in detail in The Historical Data Viewer Page.

Command Button, Set Value Hotbox, Page Change Hotbox

Click

When a page change hotbox is clicked, the page with which it is associated opens in the Display Manager.

When a command button or set value hotbox is clicked, it sends a value to the equipment with which it is associated. You should ask your VTS developer for assistance if the operation of any command button or set value hotbox is unclear.

Objects Reporting Values from Equipment, or Sending Values to Equipment

Right-click

A shortcut menu with options pertaining to the selected object opens.

Rest Mouse Pointer

Opens a tooltip identifying the tag and equipment with which it is associated.

Tool Buttons on the Alarm Page, Historical Data Viewer Page, or in the Display Manager's Title Bar or Navigation Bar

Rest Mouse Pointer

Opens a tooltip identifying the tool or button and its action.
