VTS is powerful human-machine interface or operator interface software that enables system operators like you to remotely monitor and control the activities and conditions of physical equipment from your computer screen. Among the features of VTS are the following:
• On-screen graphical representation of physical equipment running in real-time
• Remote control of equipment from a computer terminal
• Automatic controls to adjust equipment functions
• Notification of alarm conditions within the equipment
• Charting of equipment data and performance tracking
Throughout this VTS Operator's Guide, you will see the terms "VTS program" and "VTS application". The VTS program is the software in which customized projects, known as VTS applications, are created and run.
In most cases, the VTS program and your VTS application are open and running on your computer; however, in the event that your computer has had to be restarted, and you must run the VTS program:
• Go to the desktop and double-click the VTS program shortcut
• Click the Windows Start button to navigate to the VTS program
