Because your system consists of a number of different pieces of equipment, and each of these is represented on your application pages using a wide variety of different graphic objects, VTS provides you with the means to quickly identify which equipment is being represented by which graphic objects. This identification is provided by means of "tooltips".
To access any object's tooltip, simply position the mouse pointer over the object. A tooltip will appear within several seconds to display a description of the tag and its related equipment.

Running the mouse pointer over the graphic objects on your pages causes a tooltip to open, describing the tag and the related equipment. Tag notes help you to identify which equipment is being represented by the graphic objects on your pages.
Tooltips are also provided throughout VTS to help you identify tools, buttons, and other objects. For example, resting the mouse pointer over various objects in the Display Manager's title bar and navigation bar result in the objects being identified (e.g. the Add To List and Remove From List buttons in the navigation bar).
Note: Depending upon the way your application has been configured, your tooltips may appear as balloons (as shown above) or as simple rectangles.
