The VTS Alarm Dialer system is provided as a means of contacting designated operators by phone, pager, or e-mail during weekends, evenings, holidays, or emergencies, in the event that an alarm has gone unacknowledged for a specific amount of time (as configured by your VTS developer).
Note: The Alarm Dialer system may not be a part of your application. Ask your VTS developer if your application features the Alarm Dialer system.
Groups of designated operators exist in rosters in your application. Your VTS developer has configured your application to trigger the Alarm Dialer system to either contact operators belonging to an active roster when priority 1 (critical) alarms are triggered, or when either priority 1 (critical) or priority 2 (urgent) alarms are triggered. Further, your VTS developer has configured the Alarm Dialer system in such a way that once an operator has been contacted, alarms of specific priorities are reported to that operator.
When the Alarm Dialer system is triggered, it begins to contact operators belonging to the active roster in sequence from record 1 to record 8 until an operator has been reached, has successfully logged on to the application, and has acknowledged the alarms. If the alarms have not been acknowledged, the Alarm Dialer system continues to keep calling operators in sequence, cycling multiple times through the operator records if necessary, until someone has acknowledged the alarms. For further information on alarms, please refer to The Alarm Page and Alarms.
VTS provides you with a Call-Out List page that enables you to manage the Alarm Dialer system for your application. The Call-Out List page provides you with the ability to:
• Activate a roster so that up to 8 operator records will be contacted in sequence
• Deactivate all rosters (no operators will be contacted)
• Add or delete operator records for a roster, modify the contact information for an operator's existing record or temporarily disable an operator's record
• Change the order of operator records for a given roster
An example of a Call-Out List page is shown below (the Call-Out List page for your VTS application will appear differently than the one shown below).

As you can see from the above example, you need only click the button representing a roster in order to activate it. Here, the Default Call-Out Off button is depressed, indicating that the Alarm Dialer system is currently off.
Although your Call-Out List page has been configured specifically for your application, and appears differently than the above example, the general manner in which the page operates is the same as this example. Instructions on using the Call-Out List page to activate a roster can be found in the section that follows.
