Alternate Identification

Alternate identification for an account is assigned when an account is created, copied, or modified. The identification is typically an ASCII string provided by an alternate identification source, such as a card reader. This identification can only be supplied by a user with special privileges. After the alternate identification property for an account has been assigned, it can then be used to perform a logon sequence in lieu of a username/password combination.

To ensure that there are no conflicts, alternate identification properties for all accounts in a VTS application must be unique.
