Clients Won't Start

Symptoms:

Clients won't start.

Recovery:

1.  Stop the application on all clients.

2.  Using the VAM's Remove button, remove the application and all OEM layers from all clients. Note: When prompted as to whether you wish to delete the application directory and all of its files, click the Yes button. (You will be replacing the application on all clients with the non-corrupted version from the server.)

3.  Stop and restart VTS on all PCs including the server; this guarantees that any stray semaphores will be freed.

4.  Restart VTS (but not the application) on the server; in the Application Properties dialog, select the Force Clients to Synchronize: Files and Force Clients to Synchronize: Tags checkboxes.

5.  Restart the application on the server.

6.  Do a Get From Server on all clients and start them.
