The SecurityManager.ini configuration file is used to make application-specific configuration changes to modify the behaviour of the Security Manager. The majority of these variables apply to the same features that can be set using the Administrative Settings dialog, such as the auto logoff time period, the minimum password length, and password display options. Another feature that may be set using the SecurityManager.ini configuration file is the addition of application privileges.
Formerly known as the SecMgr.ini configuration file, recent VTS versions use "SecurityManager.ini"; however, existing legacy systems using the "SecMgr.ini" configuration file will continue to work properly.
This change does not affect the Security Manager's data file, "SecMgr.dat". It does, however, affect any configuration file section headings related to the Security Manager; all section headings that were formerly prefixed with [SECMGR–… ] must now use [SECURITYMANAGER–… ].
The SecurityManager.ini configuration file is made up of three sections: [SECURITYMANAGER–ADMIN], [SECURITYMANAGER–PRIVSYS], and [SECURITYMANAGER–PRIVAPPS].
[SECURITYMANAGER–ADMIN]
The [SECURITYMANAGER-ADMIN] section of the SecurityManager.ini configuration file can be used to set administrative type variables related to the behaviour of the Security Manager with respect to password attributes, privilege suppression, and automatic logoff.
[SECURITYMANAGER–PRIVAPP]
Found only in the copy of SecurityManager.ini located in the VTS layer directory, this section holds the list of standard VTS privileges.
[SECURITYMANAGER–PRIVAPP]
The [SECURITYMANAGER-PRIVAPP] section of the SecurityManager.ini configuration file can be used to configure custom application privileges to protect tags and pages in your application.
