Should your system shut down for any reason (such as a temporary power failure), you should not try to edit the system either online or offline. Rather, follow the steps below to avoid data loss:
1. Stop VTS (if it hasn't stopped running already).
2. Open your VTS application's directory (within the VTS product or installation directory).
3. Delete all of the files that include the ".RUN" or the ".VAL" extension from your application directory and its sub-directories (such as the \Pages subdirectory).
(Note: Do not delete any files that include the ".RUN" or the ".VAL" extension from the VTS product or installation directory!).
4. Start VTS.
5. Select your application in the VAM's Available Applications list and press the "Compile" button. VTS compiles your application. While the application is being compiled, you may see one or both of the dialogs displayed below:

If the latter dialog appears, click the "Yes" button to compile the application.
6. Correct any compiler errors reported.
If your ".SRC" files are corrupted and cannot be compiled, the ".BAK" files in your application directory contain the last copy of the document file that compiled without errors.
