The Template directory within the VTS layer directory contains files that are used as templates for standard applications built on top of the VTS layer (e.g. "C:\VTS\VTS"). This directory is very important as it is used to add instances (copies) of integral directories and files to your new application directories. You may add your own custom files and subdirectories to the Template directory, to have them propagated to your application directories as you create them.
Note: The Template directory within the VTS layer directory should not be confused with the Template directory within the VTS installation directory, which contains template modules that can be used as a guide for creating custom tag types. Further information can be found in Template Directory.
In addition to the above directories, the VTS layer directory contains a number of files of different types, some of which are outlined in the section that follows.
