More Integrated Features = Less Configuration Time
Most HMI software products require extensive setup to integrate components such as:
- SCADA telemetry tools including a best-in-class polling driver
- Graphics library
- Report generator
- Real-time/historical data logging & trending
- Security
- Alarms manager
- Optional Alarm Dialer, Internet Client/Server, OPC Server, ODBC Server and WAP Server
VTScada minimizes your integration time by integrating them all for you. Upgrading to a newer VTScada version does not require re-integration of these features.

Application Version Control (Optional)
Since version 10.0 each VTScada application includes a traceable audit log of time stamped versions that include configuration changes made on every workstation in the system since installation.
This optional feature allows you to:
- See incremental changes
- Quickly return to any past good version
- Merge changes from two versions together
- Review change details before deployment
- Quickly trace problems back to their source
- Recover quickly from unexpected effects of configuration changes

Advanced Configuration Management
Version 10 includes a suite of new features designed to help integrators increase productivity by reducing development time, increasing the number of features they can offer customers and making is easier to provide support when needed.
- Reduce integration time by cloning existing applications
- Create applications and update existing ones offsite and offline
- Distribute new or updated applications to multiple computers with a single ‘change set’ file
- Use a ‘change set’ files to easily backup and restore configuration information
- Distribute ‘change sets’ easily via email, memory stick, CD or FTP
- See audit log of all configuration changes for every computer in the system since installation
- Return to any previously known good version of the application

True Server Redundancy & Automatic-failover
Despite what many HMI manufacturers claim, only VTScada offers true system-wide redundancy.
- Easily configure seamless failover of application servers, Internet clients and I/O device network connections
- Configure an unlimited number of backup servers for most services
- Distribute redundant servers across locations that are hundreds of miles apart
- Reduce you total server count by setting up client workstations to also function as backup servers
- Automatically synchronize your historical data and alarms when offline servers are restored

Real-time Online Configuration
Without interrupting your monitoring & control process, VTScada allows you to…
- Configure applications with no configuration server available
- Make simultaneous changes from multiple workstations
- Debug communications & application script code
- Automatically push changes out to local and remote computers

Extensive Library of Standard & Proprietary Device Drivers, in addition to OPC & DDE
- Other HMI products require OPC and DDE drivers from 3rd party suppliers
- VTS includes direct drivers for over 100 industry standard and proprietary devices
- Direct drivers = less problems = lower integration costs
See available device drivers
Retentive Totalizer & Counter Tags
The VTS retentive totalizer and counter tags provide important information for activities such as performing preventative maintenance, creating operating and usage reports or recognizing patterns and anomalies in your system.
- The counter tag allows you to count process events
- The totalizer tag records the sum of a process variable’s value
These values are retentive and will remain in memory even if the HMI is restarted. Users can configure their systems to regularly log these values to the historical database.

Real-time Monitoring of System Architecture
Unplanned downtime is unacceptable. VTS includes tools to monitor the network and computer infrastructure warning of impending problems and triggering alarms when unexpected events occur.
VTS monitors…
- I/O device communication links
- Computer memory, drive space available, CPU usage
- Network links between client and server workstations
- Power remaining in Universal Power Supply (UPS)

Networked Electronic Operator’s Logbook
Using a standard handwritten operator’s logbook? VTS provides an encrypted, networked logbook for users to create time-stamped entries and print summaries as necessary. Notes cannot be edited and the entire log is saved to an encrypted file.
Operator notes are networked and therefore can be viewed by any VTS user with appropriate application security privileges.

Support for Multiple Operating Systems
A single 70 MB executable file can install VTScada on any of these operating systems:
- Windows 7 ™
- Windows Vista™
- Windows XP™
- Windows 2003 and 2008 Server™
This includes the 32-bit and 64-bit versions of VTScada on Windows 7 or Vista.
