Automatic Start

The VTScada Program

When you configure both VTScada and your VTScada application to auto-start, an operator need only turn on a workstation to access the application. This feature can ensure faster re-start after a power failure, and can also help to prevent operators from running other programs (such as games) on their workstations.

The instructions vary according to your version of the Windows® operating system. In general, you must place a shortcut to the VTSLauncher.exe program in the Windows startup list. Refer to the documentation for your version of Windows.

Your VTScada Application

Often, the sole purpose of a workstation is to run a VTScada application. It therefore makes sense for VTScada and your application to start automatically after a power failure or other interruption.

If you use the HideWAM property in System.INI to hide the VTScada Application Manager (VAM), it is vital that your application start automatically because you will not have access to any of the controls in the VAM.

Open the Application Configuration dialog for the application.

Select the Information option from the menu.

Click on the Automatically Start option so that it is selected.
