Request Token Button Widget

The Request Token Button widget and the Release Token Budget widget are the same widget. The difference is in whether the Release Token option is selected.

Used by:  Any output tag or parent tag

* Does not use the Style Settings tag.

The Request Token Button widget gives users a way to request a Control Token for an output tag or a set of output tags.

The button will be grayed-out / disabled if the user already has the Control Token. If no-one else has a control token on this tag and if the user is authorized to use the control, the request will be granted immediately. Otherwise, (by default) the request will be added to a queue of people asking for control of the tag. (Use the property, ControlTokenManualRequestOption to alter this behavior if needed.)

The properties dialog for the Request Token Button object:

Level

Description

Label

Text to display on the button.

This should indicate what tag or tags the user is requesting control over.

Font

The font to use for the label.

Image File

Optional. An image to use instead of, or in addition to, the label. Images are used full size and cannot be scaled or otherwise adjusted.

Whether the image is in the application's Bitmaps folder or the VTScada Bitmaps folder, the path should take the form, "Bitmaps\Subfolder\ImageName.png".

Images must be added to the application before they can be used. See: Import Images

Release Token

Optional. If selected, this becomes a Release Token button.

In general, it is better to use the dedicated Release Token Button.

Root Tag Token

If selected, control will be requested for the root tag and all of its children, not just the tag to which this widget is linked.

Confirmation

If selected, users will be prompted to confirm that they intended to request control.

Disable Options

Disable selected operator-interaction features of this widget.
